Help us rebuild after recent break-ins and vandalism

Friends,

We are reaching out with heavy hearts to share some unfortunate news. Over the past two months, our nonprofit has faced significant challenges:

  • Four of our vans were broken into with an intent to hot-wire and steal them. All four were left inoperable the day before two of our summer camp initiatives.

  • Our offices were burglarized in July. The list of stolen items included computers used by our staff, our after-school program iPads, merchandise intended for fundraising efforts, cameras and video equipment, and personal effects from our desks.

The impact of these acts extends beyond material losses, as it temporarily hinders our ability to focus on serving young boys in our community.

We are grateful for those who have reached out and expressed care. Some have asked whether we are insured or not. While we do have insurance, it is primarily intended for catastrophic events. After careful consideration and discussions with our insurance agent, we made the difficult decision to "bite the bullet" and forgo filing a claim. Our rationale was to avoid significant rate increases in the coming years, ensuring that our resources are directed towards our core mission of mentoring.

Today, we turn to our faithful donors – you, our Forerunner Family – to ask for your support in helping us rebuild and replace the essential items stolen during these incidents. We have set a goal of raising $25,000, which will enable us to cover some of the replacement costs and repair damage, ensuring that we are fully prepared as the new school year begins.

Your generosity has always been the bedrock of our organization, allowing us to make a tangible difference in the lives of young men in Lake Highlands. We cannot emphasize enough how crucial your help is during this critical time. Every single donation, whether it’s a one-time gift or a recurring monthly contribution, will have a profound impact on our ability to continue our vital work.

We truly appreciate any support you can offer, no matter the amount. Thank you for your unwavering belief in our mission. You are a sign of God's intent to be a father to the fatherless and defender of widows.

Give a recurring gift
$50/mo.  –   $100/mo.  –  $200/mo.

Give a one-time gift
$100  –   $200  –  $500

I can say with a good level of certainty that what happened to our offices is the product of mentorlessness. This will be our fuel for the next year to take ground in Lake Highlands and match as many boys with godly mentors as we can.

Relationships change lives,
Stephen Murray
