If a boy grows up in a home without a father figure in his life, who is going to teach him what it means to be a Man of God?
This is our driving question at Forerunner Mentoring. And since 2011, everything we have done has been dedicated to realizing the answer.
We believe consistent mentor relationships, focused after-school mentoring programs, and supporting single moms will enable our boys to fulfill their God-given potential.
One to One Mentoring
We believe every boy in Lake Highlands should have a mentor who can show them how to become a man and follow God passionately.
God can transform a child's story through a relationship with a godly father-figure.
Our mentors commit to showing up, speaking truth, and loving God.
Daily After School Mentoring Programs
We equip young men with the tools needed to fulfill their God-given potential in relationships, education, and identity.
Elementary: literacy enrichment, social-emotional learning, foundations of the bible, and character of a Man of God.
Junior High: development of life skills, vision for future story through career path exposure, and how to live as a Man of God.
Weekly High School Ministry
We equip young men to grow in manhood, faith, and leadership. Our mentors facilitate real discussions about the things high schoolers deal with, and teach them the life skills they need to leave high school as confident leaders and godly mentors for the next generation.
Supporting Families
We believe the most important influence in our boy’s lives is their family. We honor parents/guardians for the sacrifices they have made to raise their children. It is our privilege to provide a space for them to build friendships with other moms and feel supported by the Forerunner community.
Monthly Ladies’ Nights to gather for fun, fellowship, and food. This has historically been the greatest access point for moms to grow in relationship with one another, as well as the volunteers and staff of Forerunner.
Monthly Encounter Nights to gather for a time or worship, prayer, and study as we seek to support them as they grow in their relationships with Jesus.
