Your “forerunner” story is still being written. We’d love to hear it.

Whether you’re still in the program or an OG - we want to celebrate your story.

This year’s theme for our Year-In-Review magazine is “Forerunners go first so that the next generation can go further.” We’re sharing stories of first steps, new experiences, and meaningful milestones from Forerunners students past and present.

Maybe it’s a faith first - giving your life to Jesus, joining a church, getting baptized, or praying for the first time. Maybe it’s a learning or responsibility first - making the honor roll, earning a paycheck, starting college or trade school, joining the military, receiving a scholarship or award, graduating, or learning to read. It could even be a personal life first - overcoming a hardship, breaking a habit, joining a club, making a team, or even becoming a husband or parent.

Big or small, we’d love to celebrate it with you.

Tell us in your own words

Use the recorder below to leave a voice memo. Start with your name (or the name of your Forerunner son) and then tell us your story.

Your story could encourage other Forerunners and help our supporters see what their investment makes possible. Only share what you’re comfortable sharing, though!

Please share your story by November 2nd.

For alumni students

  • What’s something you did for the first time this year that you’re proud of? What did it take to get there, and why does it matter to you?

  • Are you the first in your family to do something meaningful? Tell us about that milestone and what it means for your future.

  • Who helped you get where you are today? Was there a mentor, staff member, or experience at Forerunner that made a difference? Share a moment you remember.

  • What’s your next first? What are you working toward, and who might go further because you took that step?
