"I'm Empowered by the Holy Spirit"
I was outside yesterday interviewing the boys for our Forerunner End of Year Doc, and I saw a kid sitting by himself...
“Hey, do you want to be in our Forerunner magazine?" He looked surprised. He asked me what he'd have to do.
"You just have to give me your thoughts on a question I have for you." He said okay, so I asked him a question.
"Which line of the Manhood Declaration means the most to you?"
He started moving his lips silently and I could tell he was going through it to himself line by line. And then he stopped, and said confidently...
"I'm empowered by the Holy Spirit!"
My eyebrows raised. I asked him why he picked that line.
"I don't fully know what that means, but I know that saying it fills me up inside. Something about hearing that about me makes me happy."
After sharing this story with another staff member, she said that recently this same student told her "I struggle with anger and now when I get angry I know to close my eyes and just ask God to fill me up.”
