Fall at Forerunner
It's October.
Football season is back, and Dak is looking good… most of the time.
Your kids are back in school, and so is all their homework. And band practice.
Your grass has stopped growing like crazy but you haven't mowed in a month. You're starting to get this feeling that your neighbors are about to put you on blast on the Lake Highlands FB page.
Pumpkin spiced lattes have been back for almost two months.
What does all this mean? What does is it all point to?
When the Fall gets under way in our community, there can only be one thing left on our mind... It's time to pair Forerunners with their mentors.
We are in the process of matching around 20 of our Forerunners with mentors who are going to love them like Jesus and be there for them no matter what. How cool is that?
And mentors make a difference. One mentor who has been mentoring since 2013 just sent me a picture of him and his Forerunner celebrating his 21st birthday. He said they are working on getting him into flight school to become a pilot. Call me crazy, but that’s a win right there.
And just in case you are wondering about how the Fall has been for us:
Just like Dak, Forerunner is looking good. Really good.
Your kids are back in school, and so are ours. Not only that, our tutors and grade coaches are back, and every day they are helping our boys do their homework before they go home.
Our grass isn't growing, but only because we just installed an AWESOME PLAYGROUND for our boys. But feel free to post about us on the LH Facebook page. We like the attention.
Our After School Program has been back for two month as well. Take that PSL.
We cannot do what we do without your generous support. Thank you.
More of Him. Less of us.
