We're meant for family

Family.

A family is a unit of belonging. A way of living, lending your heart and ears to the people in front of you. An invitation to come just as you are. Where every wall that hinders love and vulnerability crumbles. A place where fear and insecurity can be left at the door. This is the atmosphere of a family.

We all desire to be in one and feel like we’re a part of one. A family that gathers at the table, washes one another’s feet, and helps each other grow.

The Families Ministry at Forerunner has looked a lot like that this year.

“The Family Ministry Program has made my life much more beautiful. They have helped me to love the Lord so much more. The Ladies’ Night and Encounter Nights are so great; a place where women from everywhere can come together and know each other, learn more about the Bible, and hear other parts of each other’s lives.

I love when we meet. It has been so great in my life because I have never been to a gathering where women meet, pray, and fellowship together in the evening. It has empowered me greatly in motherhood. I have learned to be a positive mom who always speaks good things over my kids’ lives and is a good example to them. I’ve become a mom that loves God, does the will of God, and teaches my kids to live for Him and love Him.

My favorite thing is when the word of God is taught and we get to answer how we feel about certain things. When we pray for each other, it is so powerful; you can feel the presence of God in the room. Bailey, the Family Ministry Coordinator, has been the most impactful person in my time here at Forerunner. She always has a big smile on her face every time I see her. She is always willing to help and explain things that we don’t understand. Forerunner has helped me find myself. It has helped me realize that I am a great person and that Jesus loves and cares about me no matter what. That I am a child of God. My son also loves Forerunner. He is a child who will play most of the time by himself or his brothers. Since being in the program, he has loved playing and spending time with different kids. Normally, he struggles with his homework at home, but being in this program, he does all his homework and is doing great in his lessons now. It’s evident that his coach has made a big impact on his life. This place has been a guide. It has helped me grow from strength to strength, and has made me depend on God the Father. Forerunner is a place where I can go and feel loved, and it has brought me so much joy in my life. I am looking forward to spending more time studying the Bible together and being a part of the Family Ministry Program here at Forerunner Mentoring.” -Emma W, Forerunner Mom

We all deserve and need people in our lives who point us to our potential and help us grow into the best versions of ourselves that we can be. The best imitators of Jesus and his design for family that we can embody.
